Lavender has been associated with cleanliness since the Romans added it to their bath water.  The name actually comes from the Latin word, lavendus, meaning to wash.  We all seem to love the relaxing, calming aromatherapy effects of lavender but it does possess anti-microbial properties as well.....the lavender flowers are blended into the soap to provide a mild exfoliating property.
